7 weeks old

A little late, but the pups are already 7 weeks old. They have outgrown my little food scale, but weighing them on the bathroom scale would suggest that most weigh 8 1/2 to 10 lbs. Cleo left on Friday evening, and the pups don't even seem to even notice. Poor Cleo was very ready to leave and get back to life without puppies. The pups have had a number of new experiences lately. They have been eating some of their meals on a large hard plastic black tray so that slippery surfaces are less worrisome. We have started a bit of crate training, tossing food kibble in the various crates set up around the house to make positive associations. Saturday afternoon, they got to go out in the snow for the first time and thought that was a blast, not seemingly bothered by the cold. Even willing to toilet in the cold stuff. This morning, I introduced them to a hairdryer, both noise and sensation. Later in the day, they got to meet a fearless toddler and active 4 year old girl. And they have been visiting the cats whenever they can slip into my bedroom. But mainly it is just a matter of trying to keep them entertained and out of trouble.

Cleo unsuccessfully attempting to avoid the pups. They are all outside/behind of the pen and Cleo is sitting in the plastic tub filled with newspapers. The pups still managed to nurse. Where there is a will, there is a way!
Pups wrestling with a large stuffed lion toy.
Pups playing in one of their favorite toys, while it held together. Just like with young children, sometimes the simple cheap toys are the hits.

Gold female asleep on the stuffed lion.
Cream boy trying to figure out wheelchairs.
Discovering the joys of tennis balls (cream boy again).
The pups had hauled this broom down the hall and around the corner, and thought it was a great new toy.
