Let the chewing begin

The pups have cut their first baby teeth; poor Cleo now has to deal with little puppy needle teeth. Earlier in the week, the pups graduated to the full sized double ex-pen (approximately 16 sq ft) and are making full use of all the room. They are champs about using the litterbox, and we have seen some pups actually march down to the end of the pen to take care of business all by themselves. Not to say there aren't still plenty of "accidents". At this age, we typically help the pups along by carrying them down to the litter box when they first wake up and after eating. Although the pups are reaching developmental milestones on schedule, they are quite precocious, much more so than the collie or Golden retriever litters have I raised at the house. They are eating solid food at a younger age, and are quite strong and agile physically. Purple female leads the pack, and she has already figured out how to climb over the low half gate - she escaped three times yesterday, all three times trying to get to me. So I have had to swap out the low half panel for a higher panel that poor Cleo can barely jump over. And just tonight, I caught Purple trying to scale the side of the ex-pen. Little Miss Houdini.
