Two pounders
All the pups weigh at least 2 lbs. Cream boy weighs barely two pounds, big brother with the red collar (formerly White) weighs 2.75 lbs. The appetite gene must come from Jammer, since these pups are very enthusiastic eaters. For breakfast this morning, the pups ate half a can of Iams and downed 2 bottles of milk. And then they also had lunch and are due for dinner, plus nursed on Cleo throughout the day/night. I don't usually push solids and weaning this young, but with Cleo having issues with mastitis, best to get the pups less dependent on her in case we do need to let her dry up early. Plus just help take some of the load off of her. If you do the math, poor Cleo is currently trying to support over 17 lbs of very rapidly growing puppies, and she only weighs around 60 lbs. After BioSensor exercises ended on Day 16, ICAN started an early training program with three of the pups (Orange blk male, Pink blk female and gold boy). These three pups get two very short training sessions a day learning basic behaviors with food rewards. It will be interesting to see how these three pups compare with their "control" littermates. Other assistance dog programs have implemented such baby puppy head start programs with very positive results
