Changes continue every day. Cleo is already losing her intense focus on the pups and starting to come out and interact more. My friend who checks in on the pups midday said that Cleo greeted her at the door, a first since the litter was born. And when I got home, Cleo was out and doing the happy Golden greeting dance, bringing me toys, and whooing. Cleo's appetite is really starting to pick up, for a retriever she is typically not a chow hound. She is now eating 5 cups of high calorie dog food (in contrast to her normal 3 c of regular adult dog food), and that amount will increase rapidly nursing 8 fast growing pups. Each day, the pups become more mobile. Some of the stronger pups are starting to prop themselves up on their wobbly legs and almost try to take a step or two. But their main form of locomotion is scooching.
