Three weeks old

The pups are three weeks old, how time flies! All the pups gained 12-15 oz each this last week. Gold male is the smallest at 2.5 lbs and Red (formerly White) is still the biggest at almost 3.5 lbs. Most are just shy of 3 lbs. The pups are thriving in the puppy pen and doing lots of moving around. We are having some shots on goal in the litter box. The pups are starting to interact with each other and the toys, but mainly sleeping and eating (and pooping and peeing). And do they like to eat!! This morning, they got introduced to puppy mush (mashed soaked kibble with milk) and polished that off - their first time eating from a bowl and they didn't even get too messy. The adult dogs were more than happy to provide clean up services. The pups also groom each other after eating, attempting to get every last morsel. In addition, they have been eating 1 1/2 cans of Iams and 3 bottles of milk per day, plus nursing from Cleo. I still don't yet see any distinct orientation to sound, so ear canals are still opening up. And the pups and Cleo already had two visitors this weekend - Betty who is Cleo's breeder caretaker, and Mary who was Cleo's puppy raiser.

How many puppies can fit in one small pet bed - all eight!
